Mesothelioma is an uncommon form of cancer, in which cancer (Asbestos) cells are found in the sac lining the chest (the pleura) or abdomen (the peritoneum). These cells cover the outer surface of most of our internal body organs (mainly around the outside of the lungs and inside of the ribs (pleura), or around the abdominal organs (peritoneum), forming a lining that is sometimes called the Mesotheli oma. Hence, the name is Mesothelioma.

How much are chances of recovery in Mesothelioma?

The chance of recovery (prognosis) depends on the size of the cancer, where the cancer is, how far the cancer has spread, how the cancer cells look under the microscope, how the cancer respo nds to treatment, and the patient’s age.
